Strandteatern

In August 2020, Cahoot?! Physical Theatre collaborated with the Swedish company Strandteatern. The project began with three days of labs and rehearsals, where Cahoot?! and Strandteatern explored how to merge Strandteatern’s style of storytelling with the physical style of Commedia Dell’Arte. 

At the end of the week it was time to test out these discoveries in front of audiences. The play Prins Hat Under Jorden was performed at Halmstad International Street Theatre Festival in Halland, Sweden and was made available to Cahoot?!’s Minnesotan audiences through a live stream.

Prins Hatt Under Jorden was based on a Swedish folktale and performed in a highly improvised style, which lets the audience help tell the story and make choices about where it’s going to go and creating an exciting adventure that all ages could enjoy taking part in.
